Like any good artist, I'm inspired by other franchises and IPs. Every now and then I feel motivated to create my own piece to "add" to the mix. I like the challenge of trying to find something unique but still true to the "aesthetic core" of a different project.
Inspired by the Fable franchise from Lionhead/Microsoft. This was my take on a dockside worker/sailor.
Inspired by the Mass Effect franchise from Bioware/EA. This profile shot was intended to convey alien intelligence.
I really enjoyed the TV series Hard Target for the brief time that it aired. Guerrero was certainly one of my favorite characters.
Inspired by the Prince of Persia franchise from Ubisoft. I created a "Corrupted Handmaiden." This one is pretty old and I can't get past the flaws now. However, the core of the idea still sticks for me.
Inspired by The Wolf Among Us by Telltale Games. I was motivated to take a different set of fables (the billy goats gruff) and modernize each to give them unique but familial identities.
The Dresden Files
I'm a pretty big fan of the series of novels from Jim Butcher. As a personal exercise, I've tried to design several of the characters and locations visited throughout the series. Here is a set of head designs I executed for the key protagonist, Harry Dresden.
